Manuel Antonio National Park is one of the smallest in the entire park system of Costa Rica, despite its terrestrial size it includes a large number of nature habitats such as seasonal marsh, mangrove swamps, secondary, primary forest. Birdwatching in Manuel Antonio National Park is great, it is home for around 150 bird species. Here you can expect to see birds such Double-toothed Kite, Purple-crowned Fairy, Pale-billed Woodpecker, White-necked Puffbird and the endemics Mangrove Hummingbird, Riverside Wreen, Black-hooded Antshrike, Fiery-billed Aracari, and Golden-naped Woodpecker.
Protecting 1793 hectares (4482 acres) of tropical lowland humid forest and 55000 hectare of marine space (including 8 small offshore islands), Manuel Antonio is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
